The Mountain
Written May 18th 2005
Jade C Bell
do you remember
standing at the bottom
looking up and just wondering
if you were ever
going to make it over
the mountain
of hurricanes
waiting in pain
as a fountain
of tears you kept inside
to open scars and shooting stars
in a reflection
within your lost eyes
of battles and wars
you finally won
do you remember the climb
as the storm raged on
mind power under the shower
what will you find
what will unfold
gravel, or gold
do you remember
hanging offa cliff
while laughing at death
as tornado's battled your soul
on yourmany adventures
to just make it over
the mountain
of hurricanes
waiting in pain
as a fountain
of tears you kept inside
to open scars and shooting stars
in a reflection
within your lost eyes
of battles and wars
you finally won
do you remember
reaching the summit
with the same old threat
you may forget but you aint dead yet
above stormy clouds
you cry out loud
as streams of dreams
poured out your eyes
fettered for words
you just say I made it
& look upwards
in to the star filled skies
the mountain
of hurricanes
waiting in pain
as a fountain
of tears you kept inside
to open scars and shooting stars
in a reflection
within your lost eyes
of battles and wars
you finally won
do you remember
your steady descent
leaving your footprints
behind where you lost your mind
for a while after miles
of this treacherous climb
now you walk a trail
but your heart sales
and life prevails
as spring flowers open to showers
and a legend is told
a man close to god, with a heart of gold
the mountain
of hurricanes
waiting in pain
as a fountain
of tears you kept inside
to open scars and shooting stars
in a reflection
within your lost eyes
of battles and wars
you finally won
do you remember
standing at the bottom
looking up and just wondering
if you were ever
going to make it over |
