About Me

Hi, my name is Jade Bell and I overdosed on a lethal injection of heroin, and cocaine, a careless decision I made under the influence of alcohol. I suffered from 15 minutes of oxygen deprivation, and as a result I slipped into a coma for a month.

When I awoke I could no longer speak, walk, or see, leaving me totally dependant on 24 hour care. To this day doctors are amazed that I didn’t suffer any cognitive damage. But I like to believe everything happens for a reason.

And believing is what gives me the motivation to carry on with what I do. I spoke with almost 60,000 students since 1999. This is in effort to not put a scratch, but a huge dent in an only growing epidemic that is plaguing our communities today.

My Dream

I have a beautiful dream
But in time it darkens it seems
Through these blind eyes, the world is so surreal and hollow
And going through Hell to get to Heaven has been hard to swallow
I’ve bled a river out my eyes but I’m unable to drown, for it’s too shallow
So I write from my mind, body, soul and from the heart and the words just follow
